10/11/2019 – The jury of the 2019 Lin Yao Ji International Composition Competition for Solo Violin in Chinese Style, consisting of composers Qin Wenchen, Ye Xiaogang, conductor and dean of the Central Conservatory of Music Yu Feng (chairman) and others, have selected Xavier’s composition Spring Lantern Festival (元宵节) to be performed at the finals, held in Beijing, China on 27 December 2019. He will attend as the sole non-Chinese composer and will have the opportunity to collaborate with the performer before the world premiere.

Spring Lantern Festival, an eight minute composition for solo violin written in Chinese style, will be performed by violin graduate student and concert master of the Central Conservatory Orchestra Ruoyun Li (李若云).

The world premiere will be given at 19:30 in the Opera Concert Hall of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
