On December 2, 2025, at the Opera Hall of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, Xavier participated in the “2025 Experience China” event, jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Education and the China Scholarship Council (CSC), from which he receives support for his Ph.D. studies. The event was attended by the Minister of Education, the head of the CSC, and students from around the world.

During his four-minute address, Xavier publicly introduced his opera The Dutch Mandarin to the audience, accompanied by a background video and a live performance by guqin player Fang Jingyu (方静宇), who played a fragment from his solo guqin composition and opera overture, Calligraphy.
